Cisco Unified Communication 500INTRODUCTIONThe Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series (UC 500)is a full-featured, small office, unified communications solution that provides voice, data, voice mail, video, Automated Attendant, VPN server, firewall, and a wireless access point. Its hardware and software design allow for rapid deployment with simplified setup and management and supports a wide array of Cisco IP phones, public switched telephone network (PSTN) interfaces, and Internet connectivity. For use with 8-50 users, various fixed configurations are offered, each equipped with the appropriate number of licenses. Expanding the system is easy and simply requires the addition of the Cisco Catalyst Express 520 Switch. Cisco Unified Communications 500 is an affordable system that makes highly secure access to information possible, facilitating more efficient ways to communicate with customers and employees. FEATURES Integrated voice mail - Integrated messaging allows for users to check their voice mail using Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP). Power failover - A power failover feature is provided on the base configuration, giving access to the PSTN lines in case of a power outage. Virtual Private Network - UC 500 includes a built-in Virtual Private Network. LAN switching - UC 500 has an integrated managed Ethernet switch that provides 8 ports of 10/1000 power over Ethernet (PoE) optimized for integration. Wireless mobility - UC 500 supports an optional integrated wireless LAN (WLAN) access for secure WLAN connectivity. Network Address Translation (NAT) - Only a single registered IP address is required to support all users on the entire LAN infrastructure. Music on hold (MOH) - The process for providing customized MOH announcements is simplified with a dedicated port. Businesses can play recorded announcements to their callers by plugging the audio source into the provided mini-jack.
